Scoring at a glance

  • Each trick bid and made: clubs or diamonds 20 · hearts or spades 30 · no trump 40, then 30. Doubled ×2, redoubled ×4.
  • Game (100 or more contract points; partscores carry forward until a game): bonus 300, or 500 vulnerable. Partscore made on the 4th deal: 100.
  • Overtricks: the trick’s value; doubled 100 (200 vulnerable); redoubled 200 (400). Making it doubled 50, redoubled 100.
  • Slams: small 500 (750 vulnerable) · grand 1,000 (1,500). Honors 100 or 150, if you count them.
  • Down (to the other side): 50 a trick, 100 vulnerable; doubled 100, 300, 500, 800, 1,100 (vulnerable 200, 500, 800, 1,100, 1,400), then 300 each.

Who deals, who is vulnerable

  • Deal 1: North deals, neither side vulnerable.
  • Deal 2: East deals, East–West vulnerable.
  • Deal 3: South deals, North–South vulnerable.
  • Deal 4: West deals, both sides vulnerable.
  • A deal passed out doesn’t count: the same dealer deals again.

How to use it

  1. Write the date and your table number at the top, and the two sides’ names at the start of each round: North and South against East and West.
  2. North deals first in each round, then the deal passes clockwise. The dealer and who is vulnerable are printed beside each deal number.
  3. After each deal, write the contract and the result, then the points in the column of the side that scored them. A made contract scores for the declaring side; a contract that went down scores for the other side.
  4. After the fourth deal, add up the round and write who won and by how much. That difference is each player’s net for the round.
  5. Keep your own running total for the night: add your side’s net for each round, and a round sat out is zero.

Print at 100% (Actual size) on US Letter paper. On A4, choose Fit to page. It prints well in black and white.

Bridge Circle app icon

Skip the paper: the app keeps score for you

In Bridge Circle, the scorekeeper taps the declarer, the contract and how it went, and the app works out the points, the vulnerability and the partscores, totals the round, and shows everyone their next table, seat and partner, or that they sit out. The totals for the night add up for you.

Free to join, RSVP and keep score. The live scoreboard and season stats are an optional upgrade, per person.
