Bridge Circle helps a bridge group plan its bridge nights, keep score and keep its standings, and runs season-long marathons for groups that play one. This page says plainly what the app keeps, why, and how to make it go away.

What we keep

  • Your email address, so you can sign in, and so we can email you a 6-digit code when you make an account, forget your password or ask for a code instead. If you use other Game Night Circle apps, they share this sign-in, but each keeps its own profile, groups, scores and subscription.
  • Your password, if you make one. Our sign-in provider, Supabase, keeps it only in scrambled (hashed) form, so nobody can read it, us included. The same password works in every Game Night Circle app that has passwords.
  • Your name, so your circle knows who you are.
  • Your phone number, if you give it. It is optional. It matches you to your name if your organizer added you by number, and your organizer uses it to text you about bridge night from their own phone.
  • What your circle records: the roster your organizer types in (names, and phone numbers and hosting addresses if they are added), bridge nights, who is hosting, who said they’re coming and who is on the waitlist, who was there, whether dues were paid, and who was asked to sub and what they answered. Whether your group scores Chicago or rubber, its rule choices (which side is vulnerable on deals 2 and 3, honors, and partscores), its house-rules note, and whether you stay at your tables or move. On a bridge night: who sat at which table and seat, and who their partner was, who kept score, and who arrived late or went home. For each deal: who dealt, who was declarer, the contract (its level and suit, and whether it was doubled or redoubled), the result (made with how many overtricks, or down by how many), any honors, or that the deal was passed out, or the points typed in, along with the score the app worked out and who saved it. For each round or rubber: each side’s total, who won and how a tie was settled. Also your group’s prizes, winners and standings, and any notes your organizer or a host writes. In a marathon: its partnerships and subs, the schedule, each match’s host, month, date and result, and its Victory points and standings.
  • Your settings, such as your text size and whether reminders are on.
  • Whether you subscribe: your plan (monthly or yearly), whether it is active, and when it renews.

Your subscription

Saying “I’m in” and keeping score are always free. The live scoreboard, season standings, the winners log and your stats are a subscription, which on an iPhone you buy through Apple. It is Bridge Circle’s own, separate from the subscriptions in our other apps. Apple takes the payment; we never see your card or bank details. The app gives our subscription service, RevenueCat, your account number (not your name or email), and RevenueCat checks with Apple what you bought, so the app knows to unlock. You can change or cancel your subscription any time in your iPhone’s Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions.

On an Android phone you buy it through Google Play instead. Google takes the payment; we never see your card or bank details. The app gives RevenueCat your account number (not your name or email), and RevenueCat checks with Google Play what you bought, so the app knows to unlock. You can change or cancel it any time in the Play Store app: tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your information or share it with advertisers.
  • We don’t track you across other apps or websites. The app and this website have no advertising or analytics tools, and the website uses no cookies. The only counting is RevenueCat’s: from its purchase records, it tells us how many people subscribe.
  • We don’t collect your location. “Open in Maps” just passes an address to your maps app.
  • We don’t send text messages. Any text from the app is one your organizer sends from their own phone.
  • Scores are points only. The app records your group’s prize amounts and dues as notes. It never handles the group’s money.

Who can see it

Only the people in your circle can see your circle’s roster (with any phone numbers and addresses on it), schedule and scores. Each table’s scorekeeper enters that table’s rounds or deals. Your organizer and co-organizers can change the rest, and they can see who in the circle subscribes, but not your plan or how you pay.

Outside your circle, people see only this: someone with your circle’s invite link sees the circle’s name and the organizer’s name, and once they sign in, the roster names that haven’t joined yet, so they can pick their own. A sub your organizer texts sees the circle’s name, the organizer’s name, and that bridge night’s date, time, host and address.

Anyone who has your circle’s invite link can join it, and then sees what the circle sees, so share the link only with your group.

Where it is kept

Your information is stored with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in the United States, and is sent to and from the app over encrypted connections. Sign-in codes are emailed through our email service, Resend. Subscription records are also kept by RevenueCat. If you use Bridge Circle in your web browser at gamenightcircle.com/bridge, your sign-in is kept in your own browser, and our web host, Vercel, keeps short-lived technical records of each visit, such as your internet address. Reminders are scheduled on your own phone. If you turn on Sign in with Face ID (or Touch ID, or fingerprint or face unlock on Android), your email and password are kept on that phone only, in its own locked storage (the iPhone Keychain or the Android Keystore). Your phone checks your face or fingerprint: the app never sees it, and nothing about it reaches us. Turning it off in Me → Sign-in, or deleting your account, takes them off the phone. These companies handle your information only to run their service for us, and must protect it at least as well as this policy does.

How long we keep it

We keep your account while you have it, and your circle’s records for as long as the circle exists. When you delete your account, or an organizer deletes a circle, it is removed from our database straight away. Copies in our database provider’s routine backups last only until those backups are replaced. RevenueCat keeps its record of your purchases under your account number only; email us to have it removed.

Deleting your account

Open the app, go to Me (or Settings, if you aren’t in a group yet), and tap Delete my account. Your Bridge Circle account, with your phone number and text size, and your Bridge Circle subscription record are deleted straight away. One Game Night Circle sign-in works in all our apps, but each app keeps its own account, and this deletes only Bridge Circle’s. Your login and email address are deleted too, unless you still have an account in another Game Night Circle app, such as Bunco Circle, Mahjongg Circle or Euchre Circle; that account isn’t touched.

No longer have the app? Sign in at gamenightcircle.com/bridge in any web browser and tap Me, then Delete my account. Or email support@gamenightcircle.com from the address you sign in with, and we will delete your account within 30 days and write back when it is done.

Your name stays on each circle’s list with the bridge nights you played, so everyone else’s scores stay right, and so does any hosting address on your roster entry or on nights you hosted. Your organizer can take your name and address off, or email us and we’ll remove them. A sample group you made from “Take a look first” is deleted too. If you run a circle, pass it to a player who has joined and isn’t a sub (or delete it) in the app first; the app won’t delete your account while you still run one.

If you subscribe, deleting your account does not stop Apple or Google from billing you. Cancel the subscription first: on an iPhone in Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions; on Android in the Play Store app, under Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.

Deleting a circle (in Organize → Group settings → Delete this circle) deletes everything in it.

Children

Bridge Circle is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from them.
